These are little gems we have discovered in our travels through life. Like natural nuggets, no two are alike and they are a bit rough, but they're as honest as Abe Lincoln.
Shot from Castel Sant'Angelo.
This was a glorious day in Rome. Castel Sant'Angelo goes back to the second century, so it shows some wear. Actually, St Peter's shows some wear, too.
All the time, God is good. This works for us, but God doesn't exist in time. God is eternal. For him, everything just "is." We can't understand it, but here is an experiment:
Think of the seasons. Winter, spring, summer, fall. Close your eyes and imagine them in a never-ending sequence. Feel the wind and the snow. Get soaked by a shower, bake in the summer's heat. Smell the leaves of autumn. Feel the winter wind. Add your own images. Keep doing this until you can have any season "present" to you.
Everything is "present"
to God, not only what we call "past," but also what we call
"future." "Here" and "there." Such knowledge is too
wonderful for me, to lofty for me to attain. I can't
understand God.
Back on earth,
grandparents can help you because some of your future is past for
them. They've been there, done that. All you have to do
is ask.
